December Wedding Ceremony near Nantes : Lucie & Nicolas
Lucie & Nicolas December 1st of 2018
How we met
This beautiful December wedding ceremony began with a first interesting meeting.
September 16th at the wedding fair Jump In Love next to Nantes I met Lucie and her son Damian.
Lucie is very open and she told me that with her future husband Nicolas they want a symbolic ceremony in order to share this special moment in their lives with their family.
Yes everything is possible … BUT : the ceremony is in less than 3 months.
No problem is not the first time I have this type of challenge and when we trust each other everything is possible !
I immediately had good vibes with Lucie, we have the same sensitivity, now it is very important that I meet Nicolas in order to understand what he wants from this ceremony. From our first appointment Nicolas appears to me as posed, reserved and his deep love of Lucie makes us progress very quickly.
The work of creating their ceremony can now begin.
The ceremony takes place in the beautiful Domaine du Chalonge in Héric near Nantes. We are in the middle of December and the celebration will take place in a small room adjoining the estate.
The ceremony begins with a tribute to relatives who are not there. We light a candle that symbolizes these absences and whose flame will preside over this ceremony.
The ceremony is then punctuated by the interventions of the couple's relatives.
The celebration of their union with the handfasting ritual
The newlyweds have chosen to symbolically seal their union with the handfasting ritual.
During this ritual, friends and relatives choose ribbons of different colors and bind the hands of the couple symbolizing their union, while showing their love. Catherine, Dominique, Edith, Jacques, Helen, Lydie, Pauline, Damian, Nicolas and Claire came to tie all these chosen colors.
Exchange of wedding vows and rings
Lucie and Nicolas exchanged touching wedding vows full of love and hope.
The exchange of rings were led by my new assisting officiant the little Damian 4 and a half years old. Very pro and yet so touching, he tasked his parents to engage in life as husband and wife.
Signatures
We concluded the ceremony with the very nice text The happiness is very small by Maurice Carême before signing the symbolic certificate.
Conclusion
Lucie and Nicolas share an eternal optimist: that’s what I remember from our different meetings.
I wish them good trips to come.
I would conclude with a quote from Antoine De Saint-Exupéry:
To love is not to look at each other is to look together in the same direction ….
